2012 Umpiring
The Imperial Youth Association is looking for young umpires to fulfill our 2012 baseball/softball season. Umpires must be at least 13 years old and can work as much as they would like weekly. Most umpires work two to three games per week.
Umpires must report to the ball fields by 5:30 each game day. Umpires must prepare the fields for play prior to the game. Games have a one hour and 45 minute time limit. Most games are over by 8pm.
All games at the Imperial Youth Association are played with two umpires on the field.
Young umpires start umpiring pee-wee/coach pitch, and then progress into older divisions.
Starting pay for umpires is $20.00 per game. Umpires with previous experience are subject to review on a higher pay. Pay scales increase throughout the year depending on your dedication and hard work. Some IYA umpires make up to $30.00 per game.
